Learn about some of the faces behind this great organization—in their own words!
I am a beautiful, unique, optimistic, passionate, kindhearted, strong-minded and outspoken 17 year-old young lady named Alysse Harris. I was born in Kinston, NC but due to my family being involved in the U.S. Military, I was raised in various places around the world—my favorite being Germany. I currently am a senior at North Lenoir High School, where I expound on my passions of singing and athleticism by running on the Cross-Country and Track teams and singing in the school’s chorus. I’m also very passionate about social issues, so I am a member of the debate team as well. One of my most-favorite accomplishments is being a participant in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant in 2016.
My name is Devin Terrell Strong, and I am currently in the 8th grade at Frink Middle School. I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 41 (Gordon Street Church), where my current rank is Tenderfoot. I am a member of the Frink Middle School Honors Society and the school’s Honors Chorus Group. My hobby is playing video games — MineCraft is my favorite. I enjoy sitting at home playing online with my friends. I am one of the youngest members of Kinston Teens.
I am a adventurous, outgoing and loving person named Sinia McPhail. My family and friends are the most important people in my life. I am driven to be a better person in school, work and just life in general. I attend Greater Church where I have been a member of the Dance Praise Team ministry since age five, and am also a facilitator for our youth outreach program The Bridge Student Ministry. I am a senior at Lenoir County Early College High School, where I am a member of the College Care Club, Cultures Club and Yearbook Club. In the community, I participate in the Lenoir County Teen Court Program and am an active member of Kinston Teens.
