Teens to lead medicine giveaway in Kinston

KINSTON, NC — Kinston Teens will hold a free Over-the-Counter (OTC) Medicine Give Away in Kinston on Saturday, March 4. The event, hosted in partnership with the Old North State Medical Foundation, is open to any individuals needing over-the-counter medications. The giveaway will be held from 12:00PM to 3:00PM at the Kinston Enterprise Center in downtown Kinston.
“Kinston Teens is excited to offer this service initiative to our community,” said Dyasia Gooding, Youth Leadership Council President for Kinston Teens and ninth grader at Kinston High School. “We’re expecting to have a great impact, and help improve the health of our community through this program.”
This is one of the first giveaways of its kind in Kinston, and the Kinston Teens organization is encouraging the community to participate. Individuals will receive a generous amount of over-the-counter products including: allergy relief, pain relief, indigestion relief, cold medicines, first-aid and vitamins. The organization expects to have medications for up to 200 individuals.
This medicine distribution is completely youth-led and volunteer run. Kinston Teens is collaborating with organizations such as the Old North State Medical Foundation, In Us You Trust Home Health Care and the Pride of Kinston to ensure the success of this event.
“The Old North State Medical Foundation is pleased and delighted to bring this project to the Kinston Community,” said chairman Dr. Johnny L. Williams. “Through this partnership, we’ll be able to provide these free medicines for the Kinston community, while also sharing free medical resources with the individuals who attend the event.”
Event Details: Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 12:00PM to 3:00PM at the Kinston Enterprise Center. The Kinston Enterprise Center is located at 327 North Queen Street, Kinston, NC 28501. The Kinston Teens office is located in this building.
