Kinston Teens to host Back to School prayer gathering

Back to School Community Prayer Gathering flyerOn Sunday, August 23, at 6:30PM at Pearson Park, Kinston Teens will be hosting a Back to School Community Prayer Gathering. This event is on the eve of the 1st Day of School for the Lenoir County Public Schools system, and will unite our community in prayer for our schools, staff, educators, parents, and students. Local religious leaders and youth will lead prayers on: school safety; school success; the parents; the students; the educators, administrators, and school staff.

“Last fall, and earlier this year, our community successfully united in prayer following strings of gun violence in our city,” said Chris Suggs, founder of Kinston Teens and organizer of this event. “As a student, and young leader, I feel that the beginning of the school year should warrant the same magnitude of community prayer coverage.”

All youth, parents, educators, and the community – of all ages – are welcome and encouraged to attend this gathering.

This event is coordinated in partnership with the City of Kinston. We look forward to the community's attendance!
