Kinston Teens and Greater Kinston Credit Union partner for workshops
KINSTON TEENS AND GREATER KINSTON CREDIT UNION TO HOST FINANCIAL LITERACY WORKSHOPS
During two workshops to take place this month, teens will participate in a “Financial Literacy for Teens!” workshop. The workshop was created by Kinston Teens and Greater Kinston Credit Union to provide financial education to local youth and help them get on a path toward budgeting, saving, planning for college and financial freedom.
The first workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2:00PM. The workshop will include information from the Kinston Teens organization about teen entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, combined with the financial literacy component from Greater Kinston Credit Union.
“We are excited about launching this financial literacy program with Greater Kinston Credit Union,” said Chris Suggs, CEO of Kinston Teens. “The goal of this program is to educate our community’s young people on how to earn, save and budget their money now and in the future. We hope to positively impact the attendees of these workshops by providing tools and skills they can utilize to make great financial decisions for the rest of their lives.”
